Who are the Sevenoaks Youth Council?

​Welcome to Sevenoaks Youth Council!

We are a group of young people aged 11–17, elected by our peers to represent your views, ideas and issues across Sevenoaks, and to make a real difference in our community.

Since 2009, we have been creating and supporting events, projects and campaigns that matter to young people, from youth gatherings and wellbeing activities to shaping local spaces like the House in the Basement Youth Café, a safe place designed with young people at its heart.

House in the Basement Youth Cafe

The House in the Basement Youth Café (HitB) is a free, welcoming space for young people aged 11–17, created with the support and vision of Sevenoaks Youth Council.

Located beneath the Stag Theater in Sevenoaks Town Center, HitB is a safe and inclusive hub where young people can relax, meet friends, and take part in a wide range of activities.

​From lively Open Mic Nights and creative Craft Nights to relaxing Pamper Nights and friendly pool and darts tournaments that occur once a month, there’s always something happening. Check out their website to keep up to date!!

​ HitB also runs a weekly SEN Club on Tuesdays, offering a quieter, supported session for young people with Special Educational Needs.
