Climate Change Youth forum:
On the 30th of September 2022, Sevenoaks Town Council hosted the first Climate Change Youth Forum which was held in the Bat & Ball Centre. This provided the opportunity for student representatives from secondary schools in Sevenoaks to discuss with each other about what action their schools are taking to help tackle climate change.
All schools found this to be a positive and worthwhile experience, with valuable information being shared, and agreed that similar meetings should be held in the future. The Climate Change Youth Forums will continue to take place in 2024 with the hope of engaging young people and schools to help share ideas on tackling the climate crises from Sevenoaks. |
Plastic Free Sevenoaks Pledge
Every year the world produces millions of tonnes of plastic, half of which is estimated to be single use and much of which ends up in rivers, waterways and oceans. In response to the global problem of plastic pollution, Sevenoaks Town Council and Sevenoaks Youth Council have committed to phasing out single-use plastic across all its facilities. This includes strongly encouraging groups and organisations to find alternatives to single-use plastic when using Town Council venues and launching an anti-litter campaign to encourage more recycling and less litter. |
Sevenoaks Youth Councillors are encouraging schools and businesses to sign up to the Sevenoaks plastic free pledge. Your school can do this by signing the pledge form below and emailing it to [email protected]
